These tutorials are also embedded in the software and can be viewed at any time. To view the Pro/TOOLMAKER Tutorials, click on the Help menu and select Tutorials from the dropdown. These are a great addition to the trial and will enable you to see first hand the powerful features of Pro/Toolmaker.

I have downloaded Pro/TOOLMAKER Tryout; how do I get started?

There are four basic steps:

1. Check the minimum hardware requirements. A network card is essential.
2. Ensure you are connected to the internet via the network card.
3. Create a PTC.com registered user account.
4. Install files.

What kinds of Help tools are provided with Pro/TOOLMAKER Tryout?

The Pro/TOOLMAKER Reference Help and Pro/TOOLMAKER tutorial are installed by default. Click Help >Contents and Index or Help > Tutorial.

Why can’t I save my database, create toolsheets, or generate machining files?

These features are disabled in Pro/TOOLMAKER Tryout. Contact Concurrent Engineering on 0845 129 8421 today for a demonstration of these capabilities and for more information on Pro/TOOLMAKER.

How do I locate my computer’s Host ID?

The Pro/TOOLMAKER Tryout license is locked to the Host ID. The Host ID is the network physical address of your computer. To access your Host ID:

1. Click Start > Run, The Run dialog box opens. In the Open box, type Run and click OK. A cmd.exe window opens.
2. In the cmd.exe window, type ipconfig /all and press ENTER. The Windows IP Configuration information appears.
3. Locate the line with the words Physical Address. The 12-digit number with hyphens is your Host ID.
4. Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-11-22-33-44-55

Why do I receive the message: Invalid license file syntax?

You may have incorrectly typed your PTC.com login details during installation. Re-run the installation and provide the correct login details.

Why do I receive the message: Internal error: Out Of Range?

A number of factors can result in receiving this message. Try taking one or more of the following actions and then rerun the setup program.

• Make sure your internet connection is running and is a reliable connection.
• Disable your firewall or any security software during installation.
• Install at a different time of day. Server traffic may be an issue.

** Note that the Pro/TOOLMAKER 30-day Free Trial has full toolpath functionality, with a software license that expires after 30 days. Ability to generate and save NC code is restricted for this trial version, and some licensed interfaces are not included.
